Oil aristocrat and famed investment manager T. Boone Pickens isn’t a large fan of cryptocurrencies.
Why?
“At 89, anything with a word ‘crypt’ in it is a genuine turnoff for me”
That was his response Tuesday when asked on Twitter his thoughts on cryptocurrencies.
The crypto marketplace didn’t do anything Tuesday to change Pickens’ mind, with bitcoin losing as most as 26% of a value during a day before shutting down about 15%. Almost all cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum and Ripple, tumbled as well.
Last week, Pickens announced he was finale his energy-focused sidestep fund, BP Capital Management, citing a fund’s diseased opening and his abating health.
“It’s no tip a past year has not been good to me, from a health viewpoint or a financial one,” he wrote in a minute published Friday. “If we are propitious adequate to make it to 89 years of age like we have, those things tend to put life in perspective.”
